The Cascade® II:1024 sensitivity, high spatial resolution, and superior ability to accurately detect intrascene contrast are perfect for low-light, live-cell applications that involve real-time imaging, such as speckle microscopy, cell-trafficking studies, widefield confocal microscopy, and protein-movement studies.
This camera utilizes a back-illuminated, frame-transfer EMCCD that is thermoelectrically cooled to -60°C without the use of any type of liquid. The combination of the sensor’s small pixel size (13 x 13 microns) and large imaging format (1024 x 1024 pixels) facilitates the effective use of short exposure times with the ability to cover a greater amount of real estate on the microscope slide, thus allowing researchers to gather more data per acquisition.
