  • RS Image application for Mac OS X
  • PCI download program

This download is for Mac OS X only.

Installation Notes
IMPORTANT: Your PCI board MUST be running the latest firmware to work correctly (i.e., Rev 33 or later).

The framework, RS Image application, and PCILoader files are installed using RS Installer.pkg. PVCAM.framework is placed in your Library/Frameworks folder. All remaining files end up in a folder called Photometrics that is created in the Applications directory on your hard drive.

RoperTucsonPCI.kext is installed using RoperTucsonPCI.pkg and is placed in your System/Library/Extensions folder. Upon installation, you will see a dialog box asking you to restart your computer.

To link a Mach-O (native Mac OS X) application with this framework, you simply drag PVCAM.framework over to the Framework folder of your Mach-O application and then include master.h and pvcam.h in your CodeWarrior project.

It is also possible (but slightly more difficult) to link with a "carbonized" or CFM app that has been converted from Mac OS 9. There is more than one way to do this, but the most straightforward approach is to use function pointers to link the CFM application to PVCAM.framework. This process is explained in the developer pages on Apple's website:
http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Sample_Code/Runtime_Architecture/CallMachOFramework.htm
